Cosmetic Tattooing FAQ
How is Eye2Lip different from other permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing specialists?
As a professional fine artist and licensed esthetician, I bring together my background in color theory with my knowledge of skin and anatomy to give my clients a truly natural look, down to the smallest detail. The micropigmentation instruments I use are patented and specifically designed for safe and effective permanent makeup application. And I use only federally approved superior pigment as coloring agents.
How painful is the application?
We use a topical anesthetic for all procedures, which eliminates most of the discomfort. And I’m extremely gentle in my application. I commonly hear “I thought this would hurt more” and my favorite, “Are you actually putting the color in right now?”
Are there any side effects?
You may experience some swelling and redness in the first 24-48 hours following the procedure. Occasionally, slight bruising may occur. Color may appear darker for the first 5-10 days and some skin peeling and lightening is normal. Tanning, swimming and vigorous exercise should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing time is 5-10 days; final color blooms within three weeks.
What if I want to change my hair color?
The colors I choose for lips and brows are chosen according to the hues found in skin, hair and eyes, and look natural with almost any coloring.
How do you determine the look and coloring that’s right for me?
When we meet for our consultation, we’ll go over the precise contouring and coloring you have in mind. Then I’ll recommend the specific treatment and shades to best complement your own skin tones, hair color, wardrobe and lifestyle. And before any treatment, I’ll apply penciled makeup to give you an idea of expected results.
How are permanent cosmetics applied?
The pigment is applied with a hand-held machine. The depth of the pigment deposit is regulated, making the procedure safe and controlled.
How long does cosmetic tattooing last?
Over time, you’ll notice a gradual softening of color occurring each year. Color enhancements are recommended for those who wish to keep their permanent makeup looking as fresh as possible. Generally, microblading every year, other applications every two years, depending on color, individual body chemistry and lifestyle. Pricing on color enhancement is greatly reduced and individually assessed.
Can I still wear regular makeup?
Absolutely! This will just enhance any other cosmetics you use. You may not want to use your cosmetics every day, but to apply some additional drama for special occasions. Wait five days after pigmenting to apply makeup.
Is cosmetic tattooing natural looking?
I approach permanent makeup artistically, with careful consideration of hair color, skin tone and shape design to enhance your natural features for a polished, “I woke up like this” look.
